Small annual herb , quite glabrous . Stem angular , branched at base . Leaves numerous , sub-sessile , distichthious , stipulate and paripinnate . Flowers small , numerous shortly pedicelled , axillary ; yellow . Sepals 5-6 , ovate-oblong , coriaceous with pale margin , solitary , erect . Fruit capsule , minute , globose and dehiscent .

*Bitter , astringent , stomachic , antimicrobial and immunomodulatory (Haque et al., 2016, Jantan et al., 2019)
*Antiviral , antiplasmodial , antimicrobial , antidiabetic , antioxidant , analgesic , anti inflammatory and anti-ulcer activity (Dauladi et al., 2018 et al., Kleim-Junior et al ., 2017; Lee et al., 2016) .
*Used in gonorhhea and other genital infection .
* Used in treatment of gastropathy , diarrhea , dysentry , ulcers and wounds .
* Plant is used to tone -up sluggish liver and also given in chronic liver condition and jaundice .
