Biennial , erect , glabrous herb , fusiform tubular - like fleshy taproot ; stem strongly grooved . Leaves alternate , lower ones pinnate , long petiolated , upper ones trifid ; stipules absent , distinct leaf sheath present ; leaflets deltoid – rhomboid . Infloresence umbel . Flowers bisexual , pentamerous ; calyx teeth obsolete ; petal 5 , free , ovate – orbicular , greenish white . Fruit ovoid to globose schizocarp ; seedling cotyledons stalked , blade ovate- oblong .
