A large evergreen tree . Stem thick brown , rough . Leaves simple , alternate , stipulated , petiolate , darkgreen , elliptic to ovate , acute tip . Flowers monoecious , crowded on globose . Male flower with tubular hairy calyx , apically 2 lobed , pubescent ; filament straight bud . Female flower with tubular hairy calyx , fruit multiple aggregate type (sorosis) ; seeds smooth , ovoid , reniform.
