Schizostachyum brachycladum(Kurz) Kurz
Schizostachyum brachycladum Kurz is an evergreen rhizomatous species of bamboo12. It is also known as Melocanna brachyclada Kurz2. The culms are erect, straight, 10 - 15 metres long and 60 - 80mm in diameter2. The stems are cylindrical, close together, erect, curved only at the apex, 6-13 m tall and of 5-10 cm of diameter, of green or bluish green colour with thin longitudinal darker occasional stripes, waxy white under the nodes1.
