Endowments & Awards
The college has instituted
endowment prize to support brilliant students hailing from economically unsound
background. The endowments are sponsored by the former members of the staff.
1. Fr. Mathai Nooranal
Endowment : The Governing Board of St. Mary’s
College has initiated an endowment of Rs. 25,00,000 (Rupees Twenty Five Lakhs) in
the year 2015 as a part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the College. The
endowment is named after Rev. Fr. Mathai Nooranal, the Founder of the College
and had been inaugurated by His Holiness Baselios Poulose II, Catholicose of
the East and Educational agency of the College.The amount equivalent to the
yearly interest of the endowment would be awarded to the meritorious student or
students of St. Mary’s College or St. Mary’s College Higher Secondary School on
a merit cum means basis.
2. H.H. Baselios Didymus -I
Scholarship : It is instituted by former
Principal, Prof. Sunny Mathew as a token of his gratitude, commitment and devotion to
H.H. Baselios Didiymous I, the former manager of St. Mary’s College. The annual
interest on the endowment amount of Rs.50,000 will be distributed equally among
two students (one each from second year B.Com and BBA selected by the faculty
members of commerce department on the basis of academic and non academic
performances, character and conduct and economic conditions.)

Smt. Rachel Abraham Endowment
Prize: Annual interest on Rs. 2000/-.
The prize
will be awarded to the student who secures the highest mark in the final year
B.Sc. Botany (Main) University examination every year.
5. Prof. G. Shaji Memorial
Endowment Prize : Annual interest on Rs. 3500/-.
The prize
will be awarded to the student who secures the highest mark in B.Sc. Chemistry
(Main) University examination every year.

Prof. M.O. Oomen Endowment
Prize: Annual interest on Rs.1500/- The
prize will be
awarded to the student who secures the highest mark in the final year B.Sc.
Physics(Main) University Examination every year.
7.
Mr. M. C. Pothen’s “Manamel
Endowment” Prize : Annual interest on Rs. 25,000/-. The prize will be
awarded every year to a boy and a girl student of Degree / P.G. classes to meet
their personal expenditure on (1) All fees payable to the college (2) All books
required for the year and part of their personal expenses, transport charges or
boarding charges.
8. Mr. George V. Thomas
Vattakunnel Endowment Prize: Annual
interest on Rs. 7500/- The prize will be awarded to a Final Year M.A. Political
Science student of this college who secures the highest marks in University
examination of M. A. Political Science, held by the University of Calicut every
year.
9. Prof. P. M. Avira Memorial
Endowment Prize : Annual interest on Rs.
10,000/-The prize will be awarded to a Final Year B.A. Political Science
student of this college who secures the highest marks in the University
examination of B. A. Political Science, held by the University of Calicut every
year.
10. Prof. Thomas Thevara Endowment Prize :Annual interest on Rs. 10,000/-. The prize will be awarded to a Final Year B.Sc. Chemistry student of this college who secures the highest marks in the University examination of B.Sc. Chemistry held by the University of Calicut every year.
11. Prof. James Kurian Endowment Prize : Annual interest on Rs. 10,000/. The prize will be awarded to a Final Year B.A. Political Science girl student of
this college who secures the highest marks in the University examination of
B.A.Political Science held by the University of Calicut every year.
12. Prof. James Mathew Endowment Prize : Annual interest of Rs. 40,000/. The prize will be awarded to a IInd year B.A./B.Sc. student of this college
who secures the highest marks in the University examination of common course
Malayalam held by the University of Calicut every year.
13. Sri. George M. Varghese Manjaloor Memorial Endowment Prize: Annual interest on Rs. 10,000/-. The prize will be awarded every year to the
Best Athlete of St. Mary’s College (among Men and Women)
14. Prof. A. V. Thariyath Endowment Prize : Annual interest on Rs. 15,000 - is awarded every year to a student in the Final year B.Sc. Physics class
who is academically outstanding and economically backward.
15. Prof. K.M. Sunny Endowment Scholarship : Annual interest on Rs. 34,300 - is awarded every year to a student in the Second year M.Com. (Aided) class
who is selected on the basis of performance (academic and non academic) in
classroom, character, conduct and economic conditions.
